Intro to Wheel Throwing Class

Beginning/Intermediate level course

This is an introductory class in wheel thrown ceramics where students learn to create pottery on the wheel. The lesson plan/syllabus will come from the instructor listed for each class. Personal critiques will be accessible throughout the session and basic classroom tools will also be available.

  • Six week class length. Begins April 15, 2024

  • $210 class fee. Price includes all materials (clay, glaze, and tools) plus firings.

Evening Session

Intro to Handbuilding

Beginning/Intermediate level course

This is an introductory course in handbuilt ceramics where students will learn to pinch, coil and slab build ceramics. The lesson plan/syllabus will come from the instructor listed for each class. Personal critiques will be accessible throughout the session and basic classroom tools will also be available.

  • Six week class length Begins May 4, 2024

  • $210 class fee. Price includes all materials (clay, glaze, and tools) plus firings.

  • Evening Session

Intermediate Ceramics: Raku Class

Intermediate/Advance Course

This is an intermediate class course on how to properly Raku fire your work.
The focus will be on glazing techniques (terra sigillata, glaze applications) and constructing burn outs for vessels.  The lesson plan/syllabus will be provided by the instructor listed for each class. Personal critiques will be accessible throughout the session and basic classroom tools will also be available.

  • Four week class, starts April 22, 2024

  • $155 class fee. Price includes all materials (clay, glaze, and tools) plus firings.

  • Instructor: Caitlyn Hawkins

  • Time: Tuesdays 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.

Intermediate Hand Building: Realistic Features

This is an intermediate course on how to advance your hand building skills
and techniques. The focus of this class will be on learning and practicing facial features (i.e., eyes, lips, nose and ears etc.). The lesson plan/syllabus will be provided by the instructor listed for each class. Personal critiques will be accessible throughout the session and basic classroom tools will also be available.

  • Four week class, starts April 22, 2024

  • $140 class fee. Price includes all materials (clay, glaze, and tools) plus firings.

  • Instructor: Mica McGuire

  • Time: Mondays, 6- 9 p.m.

Clay for Teens

Beginning level Course

This course is designed for teeangers that are interested in learning about ceramics. Students will receive the basics on wheel throwing and handbuilding vessels and sculpture. Personal critiques will be accessible throughout the session and basic classroom tools will also be available.

  • Six weeks, starts May 25, 2024

  • Price: $180. Price includes all materials (clay, glaze, and tools) plus firings.

  • Instructor: Annika Hundtofte

  • Time: Saturdays mornings 9 a.m.- 12 p.m.
