Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890): Few artists have the reputation as the enigma of genius as much as Vincent van Gogh. Although he only painted for a few short years, his art is considered some of the greatest of the modern age. To many Van Gogh succeeded in transforming a painting from merely an illustration to a product of raw emotion. Join us as we examine his major works, his turbulent relationship with Paul Gauguin, and even the famous instance of him cutting off his own ear (new evidence of which was recently discovered).
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.
This event is free to the public.
Join us for coffee and donuts!
