Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)
Few figures in art are thought to be more instrumental than Pablo Picasso. As art began its transformation into the modern, Picasso was a key figure to that change. Join us for Saturdays at LHUCA as we examine Picasso’s work as it extends through both the Blue and Rose Periods, along with the highly complex world of Cubism. In addition we will also explore Picasso’s relationships with other key artists of the time, including his friendship with Georges Braque and his fierce rivalry with Henri Matisse.
This event is free to the public
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.
