The Relationship of Art: Elaine and Willem de Kooning with Christian Conrad

LHUCA, 511 Ave K

One of the more important surnames in Abstract Expressionism, the de Koonings’ work is considered a cornerstone of contemporary art. Willem de Kooning’s work, including his famous series on women, is recognizable even without the name of the artist. Elaine de Kooning’s paintings focused on portraiture, and she painted some very well-known figures of her time, including John F. Kennedy. Join us for Saturdays at LHUCA as we examine the work and unconventional relationship of the de Koonings.
