THE PINSKY PROJECT premieres at LHUCA

Texas Tech University’s School of Theatre & Dance presents The Pinsky Project, March 2nd through 6th at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts. Curtain times are 8 pm Wednesday through Saturday and 2 pm on Sunday. Tickets are available for the March 3rd – 5th performances.

The Pinsky Project is a World Premiere about an American family, based on a poem by U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky. Ten playwrights and a composer create a snapshot that captures birth and romance, fear and courage, memory and desire, joy and heartbreak – moments of an American family album. The Pinsky Project is about shaping our present, altering our future, and memorializing our past. It is about the ceaseless change at the heart of our lives.

Director Richard Corley says, “We hope The Pinsky Project will prompt audience members to ask meaningful questions regarding family, memory, fate and choice.  How much does our past shape us into who we are, and how much do we shape ourselves?  Is there a dividing line between our DNA and our will, our inheritance and our free choices?   How trustworthy are our memories, and what do they really mean?  The Pinsky Project is a unique exploration of these profound mysteries.”

Tickets for The Pinsky Project are $18 for individuals and $5 for students with a valid student ID. Tickets will also be available at LHUCA just before each performance.
