with Christian Conrad
Under examination in this lecture will be two women artists that have been instrumental in the field of Installation art. Jenny Holzer, a contemporary artist whose language based work uses public architecture as her canvas. Ann Hamilton who uses the historical aspects of a location as a key aspect in the construction of her installations. Join us for a discussion-based lecture where we explore the ideas behind installation in art through the lenses of these groundbreaking artists.
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, join the conversation, and even bring examples of their own work. If you love art, join us.
