Explore the Life and Work of Claes Oldenburg and Roy Lichenstein
with Christian Conrad
LHUCA continues our look at contemporary art with a discussion-based lecture on Claes Oldenburg. An artist made famous for the exaggerated size of his work, which often involved common objects, Claes Oldenburg is considered one of the key names in Pop Art. Beyond his monumental sculptures, Oldenburg is also discussed in connection to the Happening movement. Join Saturdays at LHUCA as we investigate and enjoy the work of this significant American artist.
Roy Lichtenstein is an artist best known for his examination of comic imagery.
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, join the conversation, and even bring examples of their own work. If you love art, join us.
